The Department of Sociology & Anthropology combines the study of people and cultures and produces students who are not only aware of the history and significance of humankind but who are also cognizant of how our actions impact the world in which we live. The department offers two degree programs and two minors:
- Bachelor of arts in Anthropology
- Minor in Anthropology
- Bachelor of arts in Sociology
- Minor in Sociology
In addition to enjoying a curriculum that asks important questions about humans and the social structures in which they live, sociology and anthropology students conduct scientific research that helps them study people and place objectively. The combination of challenging courses and experiential learning opportunities that are available within the department mean that students are well prepared for a variety of careers or further study in their area of interest.
